Reeling from the gash delivered to her left cheek, Maya was wide-open to attack, which was exactly what Hagironi was about to do! Seeing the opportunity he lunged his kunai toward her and although suddenly noticing the attack, she was in no position to defend herself or evade...
With the sound of cleaved flesh, ripped cloth and ejected blood it was clear that the blade had hit its mark. The two stared straight forward as reality dawned on them - there had been an intervention. Out of no-where an unknown figure clad in a dark-brown trenchcoat had entered the scene, guiding Hagironi's weapon away from Maya with their left hand and plunging their sword through his chest with the other.
Wind blew leafs from the trees as blood spurted from Hagironi's wound, staining his clothes and the grass below. Maya had no idea what just happened or why, but this mysterious helper either spelt salvation or disaster... just who are they?
